Home renovations and prince2 Project Management
Successful delivery of projects directly affects an organization’s or project owner’s success as a manager. Project delivery is not expected as the end result, rather there must be results to achieve a successful project in the first place. Rather, role confusion is shown by dividing roles into high level work, follow-noted coordination, and administration. Unlike in the past, project management has become a discipline that concerned itself with developing a clear picture of the end result or group of results only (similar to quality circles, in which all stakeholders (customers, clients, etc.) all “get it”). Management now (re) persona the important questions that are needed to define the process(s) which create the result and the solutions to the challenges that are associated with any effort. As on a PRINCE2 Course training.
Critical to project success and only achievable by determining how these end results are turned into process(s) are the requirements of a project. Because the most powerful results are the ability to create a product (product is progression to end result). By management increasing the interactions between management and the project team such as during meetings, identified objectives by both parties have a better chance of being translated into a realistic time frame andget-it-done steps. The next time that you hear or read about a project adverts a “project” organization ask yourself, what is my end result (a deliverable)?
- What is the purpose of project management?Expect to create certainty and control for the organization to improve quality and standards or to build the value of the organization.
Another view is to focus on creating quality, value, and efficiency for knowledge transfer internally to increase revenue and decrease cost. This should not be a strategy option for a project environment, however, an ineffective project management approach will lead to a quick return to the past only good quality and service will be maintained. Leaders in the organization develop and realign themartanciples on the topic of quality, service, product quality, communication, and growth.
Organizations must consider whether the quality management philosophy that exists in the organization, or those which exist within the team and the organization how they both impact the projects that are performed at the project level or that are being controlled at the organizational level. It is true that another organization may have a higher quality standard than an other organization or team, however, what are the requirements of their strategy to upkeep an effectively implemented process approach? Inventory, delivery, competencies, requirements management, are all geared towards the company’s business or the organization’s business.

6 Sigma’s view on what for the organization may be viewed as a “bottom line” approach from the goal to achieve better results with a direct link to the “next measurement” is exactly the type of program that the needs of a project owner or managers is almost always in-line with.
Overall, the above discussion has addressed the direct Objective focus of the Six Sigma teamwork. Having a key Objective in mind is the key to success in a Six Sigma project and project management, all methods of project optimization. Other elements that are related to this topic are opportunities as to how project management can take advantage of Six Sigma in the LEAN 70/5SM learning.
